It also sports a six-pin power connector that raises its power limit. As a result, this card does indeed have some additional.well, wind force. The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 Windforce OC’s cooler is all but identical, but it swaps out the two 80mm fans for larger-diameter 90mm units. No, this isn’t just another picture of the preceding GeForce GTX 1650 OC, though it looks almost alike. MSRP is $159.99 EVGA's slightly more expensive option, the GeForce GTX 1650 XC Gaming, is $169.99, packing a fairly hefty factory overclock: to 1,860MHz. Indeed, at launch, this is the only single-fan GTX 1650 I saw to sport a six-pin power connector. EVGA elected not to factory-overclock this card, but it should have plenty of headroom, thanks to the extra power delivery, and make it possible for you to try your hand. Unlike many GTX 1650 graphics cards, this one comes equipped with a six-pin power connector. The large heatsink will undoubtedly benefit the GPU’s thermals, but this may not be the best GTX 1650 if you are putting together a compact mini-ITX PC. This is also one of the thicker single-fan thermal solutions, as the card’s beefy aluminum heatsink extends the card’s height to the point that it fills almost three slots across. (All of EVGA’s GeForce GTX 1650 cards use the same PCB and fall roughly within the same dimensions.) As a result, this card is a couple of inches longer than some competing single-fan solutions from, for example, Gigabyte and PNY. Unlike many single-fan cards, this one is not particularly compact, though its length falls just short of EVGA’s other GTX 1650 cards. Kicking things off for EVGA is the company’s GeForce GTX 1650 XC Black Gaming card, which uses a single-fan thermal solution. See our review of the Zotac GeForce GTX 1650 OC.) (PC Labs has tested one so far, a Zotac model. So, without further ado, let’s have a look at the GTX 1650 graphics cards announced so far, many of which you can buy today. It's also above some models of AMD’s Radeon RX 570, which is its main competitor. As a result, the GeForce GTX 1650 is considerably more expensive than the outgoing GeForce GTX 1050, and it’s also priced higher than many GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics cards. The starting price laid down by Nvidia for the GeForce GTX 1650 is $149.99, which is the lowest you will find any of these GPUs at launch, with most coming in above that. The factory overclock on these cards go as high as 1,875MHz, and it’s likely that you could push this even further if you had the mind to do so. Fortunately for overclocking enthusiasts, a few OEMs created models that feature a six-pin PCI Express power connector.

Most of the first wave of GTX 1650 cards lack auxiliary power connectors. The power limit is likely holding the clock speed back on these cards, and the highest factory overclock we observed on one of these GPUs without additional power was 1,755MHz. These figures are low compared to the GTX 1660, which has a base frequency of 1,530MHz and a boost frequency of 1,785MHz. Base clock speed is a relatively modest 1,485MHz, and the boost frequency is a restrained 1,665MHz. Nvidia set a power target of 75 watts with the GeForce GTX 1650, so that it could work on a motherboard without the need for additional power connectors. The cut-down die hints that Nvidia indeed may launch a GeForce GTX 1650 Ti in the future with a fully enabled TU117 core to power it. Unaffected is the GPU’s back-end, which employs a 128-bit-wide memory interface that connects to 4GB of GDDR5. Nvidia opted to partially disable this GPU die, however, and instead each GTX 1650 will have access to just 896 CUDA cores and 56 TMUs. At the heart is a new GPU core named “TU117,” packing in a total of 1,024 CUDA cores and 64 TMUs. The GeForce GTX 1650 itself, alas, is somewhat lackluster as the Turing line goes. But this is the last Turing-based GPU that we knew for sure was still coming from Nvidia in 2019. I suspect we may still see a low-end replacement to the GeForce GTX 1030 (and possibly a GeForce GTX 1650 Ti).

With the April 23 launch of its GeForce GTX 1650 graphics cards, Nvidia has just about completed the rollout of its "Turing" card architecture to all segments of the graphics card market.
